About Me

  Hi, my name is Angel Noriega Rodriguez. I know it's a pretty long name. My dad and mom came up with it and honestly I like it. Not that I can do much about it now though. I'm in tenth grade and this is my second year at Fort Lauderdale High School (FLHS.) Last year and this year have been by far my best school years. Not sure if it's just because it's high school but I've definitely been happier since my time at this school. I've made so many friends with the students, teachers, and staff. Going to this school was really a last minute choice, but I'm glad it worked out. With the AICE Diploma I hope to go to Full Sail to study media and film, which leads me to my next topic. Ever since I was about ten years old I started thinking about what it was like behind the scenes of a movie or a show. It all happened when I was watching this show and one of the characters made a good joke, I thought out loud next to my dad and asked "Do you think the people who are filming are laughing too?" And he told me "Go find out." By the end of fifth grade I decided I wanted to go to a school where I can learn about media and film and found out about my middle school and went there which also had a Cambridge program. I learned so much from my first year I took the three courses they offered through out middle school. I even went to a Florida Scholastic Press Association (FSPA) event. Being there really showed me what it was like to be in person getting shots and then editing them the same day. I know I'm all over the place but bare with me. That same trip we made a visit to Full Sail and I decided that this is the place, unless of course I can go to Columbia in which case I'd go there. I got certified for Adobe Premiere Pro in sixth grade, although I'm a little rusty I can still do a pretty good job. When I went to FLHS and heard about this class I decided to take it in tenth grade because I was already doing good in journalism. So now I'm doing both and like I said before I'm happy I'm here.  Hey guys, so for this blog I'll be talking about the week before our second day of filming on the 23rd. After filming on the first day we filled in Anya on everything that happened the first day and decided that we would film again on the 23rd. Leading up to that date Daniellla had helped me get access to Adobe Premeire Pro so I can begin editing. She also uploaded all the videos we filmed on to google drive so we can have easy access to it. We took some videos and photos on Ben's phone and had those sent so we can get the different angles and bloopers. We decided the next steps were to figure out our location and plan for the second day of filming. Originally we thought it would be best to film the first two minutes of the film and get those out of the way. Short Film Research: Tangles and Knots

  A sticky, intimate bond between mother and daughter becomes threatened when the mother helps her teenage daughter throw a party to impress new, popular friends. Sound: In the dialogue, there is no difference in how the mother and daughter speak to each other, speaking more like friends than mother and daughter. However, when the party starts, the mom begins interjecting herself into the daughter's conversations, teaching her how to take a jello shot and encouraging her to come into the pool. The added sound contributes to the setting, with dance music that helps bring the idea of it being a party altogether. This is made apparent when there is no dialogue and the daughter is just dancing, where all that can be heard is the music she's dancing to. There is no dialogue that needs to be understood or listened to, more so the viewer can focus on the daughter's awkward movements and how she feels in that moment. Planning for the next shoot

 Hey guys, so not much has changed since the last blog. My friend still has COVID and I don't see a time that we'll be able to film the final scenes yet. Fortunately he has gotten better but as far as safety is concerned I don't see a possibility for filming. My new plan for now is to begin editing. Since I filmed the scenes in chronological order I can begin preparing the first cut of the film. This will allow me to see if there are any scenes which may need to be reshot or if I'm missing any scenes that need to be filmed. At first my editing plan was to use Adobe Premiere Pro as I have for my previous projects, but the computer I was using can't handle the program and started malfunctioning. Right now the deadline is nearing and I've been stopped in my tracks due to my friend getting infected. I plan on doing one of two things in order to go around these problems of mine.
