How do your products represent social groups or issues? My product represents many social groups and issues, targeting minorities, socio-economic classes, and substance abuse. In this product the story focused and revolved around a minority as a main character, with an exclusively minority cast and crew. While it wasn't the idea when starting the project it was our outcome. In doing so our main cast being minorities showed them in position of power. At the same time it also showed how minorities in lower classes struggle with many issues such as substance abuse. Our main character portraying a minority and an alcoholic woman with an addiction goes into many stereotypes revolving minorities. Having our antagonists be portrayed by African-American actors further represents are use of social groups in different roles than perceived on a conventional film. As I said before it wasn't purposeful that our cast was minority only, but in doing so it had a better impact on the film and

Final Days of Editing

Image
Hey guys, so for this blog I'll just get right into on the second and third days of editin g. After adding the scenes in the office I finished adding the closing scenes of the murder and Jackie laughing and crying outside the home. The third day I had to work in the morning until 4. I decided it would be best to call for that day off and continue editing. So as soon as I woke up I went straight to editing. I reviewed my work from the last day and saw many minor problems which were resolved pretty easily. The next step was to figure out the titles and where to put them as well as adding the music. I found a great font on dafonts.com which fit perfectly for the films theme. I downloaded it and immediately began creating the titles. The next step was adding the title in between minute two and three. Premeire Pro had a graphics option which had a nice pop up screen where I can write what I wanted into the text box. I didn't like the graphic much but I used it and then edited it. I

Hey guys, so for this blog I'll be focusing on the second day of editing. I wasn't able to continue editing until days after on Saturday the 29th. Friday I had to work and by the time I was back I needed to go to sleep. I planned to edit in the morning the next day and then go to work. I had a lot of work in general from finishing the editing film to meet deadlines and other school work, I decided to take the day off. I was able to finish the majority of the film. I put everything the first minute to the final minute without graphics. I was mainly focused on minutes 3 to 4. We had planned the shots well for film. Although they didn't work out as well. I decided that it would be best to show cross cuts of different scenes and then eventually show the out come of them. That way it could have some form that wasn't just one shot after another. I thought it would be best to do it like that so that it seems like something is actually happening and not lose my viewers attenti

And so it begins

Hey guys for this blog I'll be talking about the first day of editing on the film. Our final day of filming was on 27th, but I had started editing two days before on the 25th. I could only do the first two minutes of the film and it was mainly a rough draft. We didn't have all the shots of the film. We still needed to reshoot one scene and I was editing at school during class because I didn't have time outside of class. I started by reviewing all of the footage we had and keeping the ones that I can use. I ended up getting rid of over 15 videos that weren't usable at all and keep the rest leaving about 30. The first step after organizing was to put the scenes in order and follow through from there. I had already thought of doing a cross-cut for the first scene between Jackie and Queenie. That's why I had done the multiple different angles since we started filming. I cut the scenes into each part when they would go quiet and the next person would start talking. Luck

Getting Everything Ready

Hey guys for this blog I'll be focusing on the editing process for this film. To begin with I want to tell you a little of everything before we started editing the film and some problems that came with it. So originally all of our footage on the first day was filmed on Ben's iPhone. We decided this was the best option because he had the best phone and we didnt have our cameras with us on that day. Danniella decided it would be best to put all the footage into a cloud. It worked out in our benefit because everyone could access it and organize it for editing. On our second day of filming we had access to a camera so we put all of our footage onto an SD card that I supplied. When we finished that day we gave the SD card to Daniellla. She can put it into the drive so we can use it from there. On the third day of filming we also filmed with a camera and put the footage on an SD card. The same process was repeated. All the footage was put into the drive for easy access. Everything up

"Ben stop laughing"

Hey guys, for this blog I'll focus on the second part of the third day of shooting when Anya got there. As soon as Anya got here we had her change and get ready. Daniella and Ben already came dressed so we didn't have to worry. Daniella also brought the manila folder that would act as the folder with Jackie's contract. Anya got ready and Danniella immediately got to rehearsing lines. Anya is a really calm and sweet girl so trying to get her to play an evil villain and get loud was a little challenging. Anya eventually got her part and altered the lines so it would make sense to her. While they practiced their lines I kept filming just in case we got a good shot in it that I can use. We never had an official shot taken and more or less just kept filming. This was so Anya and Ben didn't feel so much pressure because Ben kept laughing when he was on camera. We took the first scene pretty easily and again tried to get a different angle for the scene. This time we got an ov
