Filming Blog For My Music Video
Hey guys, for this blog I'm going to walk you through my filming for the music video. To be honest, it was pretty fast and took less than an hour. Each shot was maybe done twice to make sure I got everything I needed and to use the other in case one of them wasn't the best. I did most shots in order, which made it easier to film, except the car scene which was done last. I wasn't able to film for the entire thanksgiving break until Friday after thanksgiving. The entire video was done at midnight which made my sister and her boyfriend a little uneasy but they came around in the end. Filming with them was different than filming with other people. To put it simply, they did not want to be there. Like I said before they did come around in the end, after I told them how to do what I wanted and added some ideas they wanted to see in the video. Throughout the filming I wanted to make sure that the scenes had told a story, although they did tell some sort of story, I feel like I need to re-do some scenes. Let's get into the quick walk-through I talked about earlier now that I mentioned most of the things that happened. The first few scenes were the hardest. I needed a scene that showed anger with each other, but all I got was tired laughs and yawns. After that, it was smooth until I reached a handshake scene where the therapist leads the couple out and reviews his notes. The problem with this scene was trying to get enough headroom. I didn't have someone behind the camera for the scenes so I had to prop it up on a counter and a phone under the lens to get me and the couple in the shot. This took a couple of tries but I got it right in the end. The easiest scene had to be the last one. It was simple low lighting and a high angled shot with no acting just the couple rocking back and forth. That's pretty much all there was to the filming process. Maybe there will be a second blog about filming in the future, but until then, see you.
