Filming & Editing- Before production: Final Task


 Hey guys, for this blog I'll be telling you about my filming and editing for the final task. As I'm writing this I haven't started filming for the final task. As I explained in my schedule blog I'll be filming this weekend. The reason for this is because of my actors personal schedule. They are only available through the weekend and that works with my schedule. I don't plan on changing any locations for my filming and I already have permission to film in these places. I do however plan to change some of the shots in my film. I haven't decided at this point because I haven't filmed, but knowing the difficulty of some scenes, because of the lack of equipment, I may need to reconsider certain scenes. I don't plan on having to stop filming or change plans with filming due to weather since most of these scenes can benefit from the weather, like rain or heavy wind. There are some issues that may rise during filming. The cameras I'm using are originally meant for photography and for that reason the videos are usually in lower quality than I hoped. For this reason I plan on using my phones camera to film certain scenes. The quality on those cameras look better and may work better than my cameras for certain shots. They also provide a better flexibility to control and move around compared to my camera. What worries me most is not the filming aspect of this project but the editing. Prior to this I was using a friends laptop and the software on there to edit, but I won't be able to do that for this project. My main worry is finding a computer that can handle the software I'm familiar with or finding a different software available for my computer. The actual editing phase of this project doesn't worry me as there's no special effects I decided to add. I want to focus more on simple shots and telling the story through the actual scenes and dialogue. I plan on using cuts and some fades but that should be the extent to the editing for this project.  Hey guys, so for this blog I'll be talking about the week before our second day of filming on the 23rd. After filming on the first day we filled in Anya on everything that happened the first day and decided that we would film again on the 23rd. Leading up to that date Daniellla had helped me get access to Adobe Premeire Pro so I can begin editing. She also uploaded all the videos we filmed on to google drive so we can have easy access to it. We took some videos and photos on Ben's phone and had those sent so we can get the different angles and bloopers. We decided the next steps were to figure out our location and plan for the second day of filming. Short Film Research: Tangles and Knots

  A sticky, intimate bond between mother and daughter becomes threatened when the mother helps her teenage daughter throw a party to impress new, popular friends. Sound: In the dialogue, there is no difference in how the mother and daughter speak to each other, speaking more like friends than mother and daughter. However, when the party starts, the mom begins interjecting herself into the daughter's conversations, teaching her how to take a jello shot and encouraging her to come into the pool. The added sound contributes to the setting, with dance music that helps bring the idea of it being a party altogether. This is made apparent when there is no dialogue and the daughter is just dancing, where all that can be heard is the music she's dancing to. Planning for the next shoot

 Hey guys, so not much has changed since the last blog. My friend still has COVID and I don't see a time that we'll be able to film the final scenes yet. Fortunately he has gotten better but as far as safety is concerned I don't see a possibility for filming. My new plan for now is to begin editing. Since I filmed the scenes in chronological order I can begin preparing the first cut of the film. This will allow me to see if there are any scenes which may need to be reshot or if I'm missing any scenes that need to be filmed. At first my editing plan was to use Adobe Premiere Pro as I have for my previous projects, but the computer I was using can't handle the program and started malfunctioning. Right now the deadline is nearing and I've been stopped in my tracks due to my friend getting infected. I plan on doing one of two things in order to go around these problems of mine.
