Second Day of Filming

Hey guys, so I was finally able to film over the weekend. I have to start off by saying it feels like a large boulder is off my back now that I got all the shots I needed. I also have to say that filming shots multiple times came in handy as I can switch between them if I one of the shots isn't best. I was also able to begin working on editing over the weekend which is what I'll be getting into in the next blog. Alright, now that all that is over lets get into the second day of filming. The original plan was to begin testing on Saturday but we had complications on being able to find a ride to the location that day. We managed to squeeze in filming on Sunday. We started around one o'clock and picked up my actor at his house. We went to the location which was less than five minutes away and went straight to work. It had recently rained so it helped toward building an eerie look. Puddles on the side of the street, wet grass, and a lot of clouds which helped block the sun. We began with filming the shots by the train track, moved into the ones on the street, and finally the ones that involved both me and my friend. The ones by the train tracks were filmed at least three times over. This was for two reasons: the first being to make my friend sweat and seem that he had been jogging for a long time. The second reason was to get multiple angles of the same shot in case I didn't like the others. For these shots I was behind the camera, but the following shots with me in the scene were filmed by my brother. We did the same thing for these shots and filmed them at least three times. We knew that we won't have another time to film considering we all had busy schedules so we decided that filming it multiple times was best. My father was in town and we had an extra pair of hands so I asked him to take videos of us behind the scenes. We didn't run into an technical issues and got through it in about one to two hours. That about covers it for our second day of filming. See you guys in my next blog.
