Planning for the Final Task: Scripts


 Hey guys, for this blog I'll be going through the scripts I created for my final task. I'll show you my sound and dialogue script first and then my shooting script after. 


Sound Script: 

Scene 1: no dialogue.

Scene 2: no dialogue.

Scene 3: no dialogue. Running water and brushing against teeth.

Scene 4: no dialogue. Eggs cooking in a pan, and the noise of a plate and spatula clanging.

Scene 5: 

- David: "So, where's my food Leo?"

- Leo: "Shut up, be happy I'm making you anything." 

Scene 6: 

- David: "Wow, you really went all out making these."

- Leo: "Yeah, I know. You see I do know how to cook." 

- David: "Watch it! I never said that."

Scene 7: Running water and plates clattering.

- Leo: "Aren't you going for a run today?"

- David: "Yeah, I found this new route down by Griffin. Next to a train track and some houses."

- Leo: "Alright well go get ready you know they don't want you out the house for too long.

- David: "I'm surprised we're still here, they said we would be leaving soon"

- Leo: "Well you know how they are. They say one thing and then say the opposite."

Scene 8: Door opening and keys jangling.

- David: "Alright well I'm heading out now. See you in about an hour."

- Leo: "Alright. See you soon."

Scene 9: No dialogue. A moving car passes by quietly.

Scene 10: No dialogue. Loud footsteps. 

Scene 11: No dialogue. 

Scene 12: No dialogue.

Scene 13: No dialogue. Music from earbuds playing. 

Shooting Script: 

Scene 1: 

- Man stands outside door and opens it.

- Close up of first step into the house.

Scene 2:

- Hand-Held Dolly of man walking down the hall way into Dave's room.

- Man reaches for Dave's shoulder and Dave turns over.

- Close up of Dave's eyes.

Scene 3: Jump cut to the bathroom.

- Dave brushes his teeth in front of the mirror.

- Jump cut to Dave in the shower seen from the outside of the tub.

Scene 4:

-Dave exits the bathroom with towel around his neck after drying his hair.

- Leo cooking eggs, pulling a plate from the cabinet and serving them.

Scene 5:

- Leo walks to the table with plates and a gallon of milk in hand.

Scene 6: 

- The two boys eat their food and talk.

Scene 7: 

- Dave walks with the dirty dishes to the sink and cleans them.

- Leo fiddles with paper making an origami piece.

Scene 8:

- Dave opens the door and grabs his keys.

- He puts on his earbuds keeps his phone in hand and stretches his legs.

Scene 9:

- Man stands still and watches Dave exit from afar.

- Dave begins to exit his house and sees the man.

- Car passes by blocking the view of the man and the man disappears.

- Dave shrugs with confusion and starts to jog.

- Non-diegetic music: Tense/eerie music playing.

Scene 10: 

- Dave jogging and the man is seen over his shoulder watching him.

- Non-diegetic music: Tense/eerie music playing.

Scene 11:

- Pan shot of Dave jogging until he exits the shot.

- Non-diegetic sound: upbeat not copyrighted music.

Scene 12: 

- Wide shot and a reverse hand-held dolly of Dave running against the train tracks.

- Non-diegetic sound: upbeat not copyrighted music.

Scene 13:

- Dave continues to jog.

- Man taps his leg.

- Dave stops to fix his music.

- Man grabs his shoulder.

- Dave turns around and the man is gone.


These scripts are my final draft but as you may know it is possible to change when actually filming. Even know I'm deciding whether or not I should keep some shots and if I can actually pull them off with everything I have available to me right now. I'll be going over my schedule, location, and more in the next blog so see you there.
