Planning for the Final Task: Story Board

Hey guys, for this blog I'll be going over my storyboard for my opening sequence. I'll describe what's going on in this blog in case the words aren't legible.

First Page:

The first page shows a man getting ready, putting on his shirt. The scene switches to the man tying his shoes and then again to him grabbing a necklace. Everything up to this point is in black and white, when the man reaches for the fedora color comes to the screen as he puts it on. It shows a downwards tilt of The Mans face as he places it on his head. The scene then shows him in front of a stair case which he begins to climb.

Second Page:

The second page shows The Man outside the door opening it and taking a step inside a house, the scene switches to a close up of the first foot inside the house. It switches again with no transition to the man walking down a hallway to a door. This is shot in a hand-held over-the-shoulder dolly shot. The scene then shows the man reaching his hand towards a boy sleeping and the boy turning to his other side. It shows a close-up of his face, and then a jump cut to Dave getting ready, brushing his teeth and taking a shower.

Third Page:
In the third page Leo starts to grab ingredients to cook breakfast. This takes place as Dave is showering. The scene shows a point of view shot of Leo cracking eggs. It then shows the frying pan its on as its cooking. Music starts to rise as Leo dances as he cooks and the scene switches to another point of view shot as he's grabbing plates from the cabinets. The scene switches to him placing the eggs on a plate with the rest of the food.

Fourth Page:

The fourth page starts with showing an outside view of  Dave showering and exiting the bathroom with a towel on his head drying his hair. The camera moves to Leo cracking an egg into a frying pan and then a high angle of the egg cooking. It jump cuts again to the two boys now eating their breakfast and talking. It shows a shot/reverse shot between Dave and Leo when they start talking.

Fifth Page:

The fifth page starts with Dave grabbing his keys and exiting out the door to begin his morning jog. It shows him stretching and getting ready to go. It switches to a low angle with The Man in the frame watching Dave as he exits his door. Dave notices this, but a car passes by and The Man disappears. Dave shrugs in confusion and begins to jog.

Sixth Page:

In the sixth page Dave begins to go on his route and The Man is seen following him while Dave doesn't realize. The opening sequences titles begin to play while a pan of Dave jogging is shown. There is also a reverse zoom of Dave jogging and the actors titles begin to show on screen. The scene switches to the footsteps of Dave and the music title shows on screen.

Seventh Page:

The last page shows the train tracks and Dave slowly jogging into the frame as the camera pans along the tracks. The producers title, story, and writers titles play on the screen. The scene now shows the man once again at a low angle with The Man's hand by his side and Dave by the tracks jogging. The Man taps his hand on his leg and Dave slows down. Dave comes to a stop and checks his phone. As he does this The Man approaches Dave and reaches for his shoulder. Dave turns around suddenly and the scene cuts to black. The films title "THE MAN" fades into and out of the screen and the final words seen are "Directed By Angel Noriega."
