Second day of shooting
Hey guys, for this blog I'll be talking about the second day of filming and like last time it'll be split into two blogs. Let's get into it. So our second day of filming was in the beginning of the week on Sunday. I had just gotten off of work and were to meet at Danniella's house to begin shooting the first and final scenes of the film. I was first to get there around 6 o'clock. Danniella had already set the place to look like a mess as we originally had it. It was a bunch of liquor bottles, papers, mail that I brought, and then unwashed dishes. We even added a potato, because Danniella thought it would be funny. After we had the props in place we had to make the letter. Danniella would fold an envelope write "JACKIE" and place a blank paper inside. We printed out new copies of the storyboard, we charged the camera battery which Danniella supplied and set up tripods. The first opening shot was going to be a hand-held dolly where we show the kitchen as a mess. The shot wasn't possible because we didn't have the space. We tried it multiple times but it came out either too shaky or the props weren't in the frame. At some point we propped the camera on the tripod and did a normal pan from two different angles. We decided to keep it for now but figure it out later when editing. While I was busy trying to get the opening shot Danniella and her mom who was now playing Queenie rehearsed lines. They were able to get them in about 15 minutes and then we went to shooting. It was a lot of fun going back and forth. We got many different angles on the same scene and they were really close to each other. By the time we finished shooting the first minute Anya had made it around 7:00pm. That's all for this blog, I'll see you in the next one where we filmed with Anya.
