Final Task CCR

Image
Hey guys, so this is the CCR for my final task. I did an interview with the great panda journalist! It didn’t turn out so well. It seems these animals do things a little differently, but they sure have a personality.  I really hope you enjoy the video, I tried my best to answer the questions the best I could and I really hope that I answered them thoroughly for you. Enjoy!

My Final Task

Image
Hey guys,  so in this blog I just wanted to introduce you into some things that will help toward understanding my movie.  These are two best friends who are used by an international organization and currently being held in a safe-house. Although their attempts worked against normal people it didn't quite do the job when hiding from The Man. The following is what happens when The Man finds them. Hope you enjoy! It's been a crazy experience leading up to this and I've had a lot of fun. -Sincerely, Angel Noriega

Finalizing Editing for my Final Task Pt.2

Image
Hey guys, continuing where I last left off. My final steps were to add the music and any special effects I would end up needing. As I was editing I realized that the music could change the story of the movie entirely. The song I chose to play in the beginning was more melancholy than I had hoped, but instead of switching it around I decided to try and follow that story, which I plan to explain in my final blog. I added the music in the beginning and end of the movie and fixed up the audio to make sure background noise was heard. Doing so was harder than I anticipated. While OpenShot is a good editing software, it is not the best for sound and it's really where I had struggled when making sure it matched the scenes and was able to be heard. I managed to figure it out, by playing frame by frame and matching it with the audio I got it done. There probably could've been a better way of doing it, but this worked the best for me. At this point in time I was in my seventh hour class ...

Finalizing editing for my Final Task

Image
Hey guys, so in this blog I'll address everything I've done with editing towards my final task. I will repeat somethings, but I'll make sure to be fast. So starting off with the small editing I mentioned in the previous blog. I began by placing all the scenes in chronological order and trimmed down the extra run time I had for each take. I realized that my one dialogue-heavy scene was much longer than I expected. This created the problem of time and making sure it wasn't too long. I ended up cutting many scenes from the final cut. Some including: the man walking into Dave's room, Leo preparing breakfast, and jogging scenes. The only reason these scenes were taken was to fill in time in case I didn't have enough. Luckily for me the dialogue scene did just that. Removing these scenes had no detrimental effect towards the story of the scenes so I'm not concerned. After cutting scenes and trimming time I had to get to work on the shot-reverse shot. I knew after...

Editing For My Final Task

Image
Hey guys, so for this blog I'll be talking about my experiences editing and everything that happened. I'll have a follow up that goes more into depth about my editing. So we last left off where I had a plan to use my friends computer to edit. Fortunately for me I was able to do just that. In less than a hour I had my videos imported and began editing. I didn't have much time in class to edit, but my plan wasn't to edit the whole video in one sitting. I began by reviewing the footage and writing down the videos that I wanted to use in the final cut. I put them down chronologically and it made it easier when importing the video into the software. I placed the videos on the timeline and began to cut. I  made small cuts that took off most of the run time I had while filming. After placing them chronologically on t he timeline the bell was about to ring. I wouldn't have access to the software outside her computer so I exported the video I had. I decided that this would ...

Second Day of Filming

Hey guys, so I was finally able to film over the weekend. I have to start off by saying it feels like a large boulder is off my back now that I got all the shots I needed. I also have to say that filming shots multiple times came in handy as I can switch between them if I one of the shots isn't best. I was also able to begin working on editing over the weekend which is what I'll be getting into in the next blog. Alright, now that all that is over lets get into the second day of filming. The original plan was to begin testing on Saturday but we had complications on being able to find a ride to the location that day. We managed to squeeze in filming on Sunday. We started around one o'clock and picked up my actor at his house. We went to the location which was less than five minutes away and went straight to work. It had recently rained so it helped toward building an eerie look. Puddles on the side of the street, wet grass, and a lot of clouds which helped block the sun. We ...

Problem and Solutions for Editing

Image
Hey guys, as I mentioned in the last blog I'll be talking about my plan for editing. As you know I haven't finished filming the entire opening sequence yet but as I can't do much filming until the weekend I have decided to start editing. The first plan for editing is to borrow a friends computer and begin editing on there. This is the more than likely plan as I have friends who are also doing the final task who would be willing to help me out. The second plan is really a last minute option in case none of my friends can let me borrow their computer. It requires me to download the software on the school laptop that was given to me. I talked with my teachers and they advised me to use the editing software online or one that may already be on the school laptop. The only reason I haven't is because this computer can't handle them. Both online editing sites and the one on the computer don't have what I need in order to edit the film correctly. They both either lack ...

Planning for the next shoot

Image
Hey guys, so not much has changed since the last blog. My friend still has COVID and I don't see a time that we'll be able to film the final scenes yet. Fortunately he has gotten better but as far as safety is concerned I don't see a possibility for filming. My new plan for now is to begin editing. Since I filmed the scenes in chronological order I can begin preparing the first cut of the film. This will allow me to see if there are any scenes which may need to be reshot or if I'm missing any scenes that need to be filmed. At first my editing plan was to use Adobe Premiere Pro as I have for my previous projects, but the computer I was using can't handle the program and started malfunctioning. Right now the deadline is nearing and I've been stopped in my tracks due to my friend getting infected. I plan on doing one of two things in order to go around these problems of mine. First plan is to get through filming even with my actor being infected. To do that I will...
